Sexy Love News

And that’s why it’s refreshing and exciting to see Graham share images that encourage everyone to love their body as it is, “thick thighs,” “cellulite” and all.

Marriage Isn’t Over After Kids

I don’t have frivolous expectations for romance. I’m not looking to get swept off my feet. I am one of those rare, perhaps slightly jaded individuals who actually likes hookup culture and is happy to live in an age in which monogamy is not necessarily the norm.
But I believe in big love because I’ve had it.
I’ve had that massive love. That all-consuming love. That ‘I can’t believe this exists in the physical realm of this planet’ kind of love.
The kind of love that erupts into an uncontrollable blaze an then simmers down to embers and burns quietly, comfortably, for years. The kind of love they write novels and symphonies about. The kind of love that teaches more than you thought you could ever learn, and gives back infinitely more than it takes.

9 Pieces Of Advice Married Couples Wish They Had Known On Their Wedding Day

9 Pieces Of Advice Married Couples Wish They Had Known On Their Wedding Day

Love News Update

No one wants to live their life in the world of “shoulda, coulda, woulda“ — especially when it comes to something as important as getting married.
Luckily for all you future brides and grooms out there, a Reddit thread popped up Sunday asking those who have already tied the knot what they wish they had known on their wedding day.
Here’s their advice for your Big Day and all the days after:
1. Take time to appreciate your surroundings.
“At some point in the evening while everyone is having dinner and talking amongst themselves, take a moment to look around at all the people who are there for the two of you, and take it all in.”
2. Focus on what really matters.
“I wish I had known that the most important thing about my wedding day was that I got to marry and spend the rest of my life with my best friend - so who cares if the napkins were placed on plates or tables?”
3. Your wedding day is fun, but marriage is even better.
“What is more fun than having sleepovers every night with your BFF? Or having spontaneous couch dates? Marriage is fun. There will be challenges, but anything worth having is worth the effort.”
4. Keep the drinks to a minimum.
“Whether you’re paying for the alcohol or friends start buying you drinks — don’t drink too much at your wedding. I barely remember the end of our reception and we were both too drunk to have the wild mind blowing sex that I assumed comes with your wedding night . Feeling terrible the day after and having my memories be hazy is something I would change.”
5. No matter how much planning you do, something is bound to go wrong.
“Something will go wrong, I guarantee it. Whether it’s an important guest that can’t make it, the wrong flowers arrive or the food is off, something won’t be perfect despite all your planning. Expect it, and happily move on when it happens. The wedding is so short, you don’t want to spend any of it unhappy or frustrated about something that really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.”
6. The most important person at your wedding is your future spouse.
“It doesn’t matter who can and can’t show up. All that matters is you’re there with the one you love.”
7. Accept that the person you marry today, may change in 20 years.
“You know how you’re a vastly different person from who you were as a kid? Well, you never stop changing. This means you’re marrying a future person who will bear little resemblance to the wonderful, soft-focus target of your current infatuation.”
8. It’s your day, so feel free to delegate.
“The bride and groom shouldn’t have any responsibilities on their wedding day other than showing up and getting married. Any questions or problems with the setup and scheduling or anything else should go to the best man or a member of the immediate family who has been designated with that job.”
9. Be aware that it goes by way too fast.
“It really will go by in the blink of an eye.”

Love News Update

Jessica, an acquaintance, had unsolicited advice for me. When we bumped into each other on the street, she shared that she had recently become engaged. “I went to everything! Every party, every event, even the ones I thought would be awful. And then I met Matthew at a singles thing I wasn’t even going to go to but I rallied and went — and that was it. He was the one!” Jessica looked me squarely in the eyes: “Go to everything. You have to. Everything. That’s where you’ll find him!”
http://lovenewsupdate.blogspot.com/

“You have to be open to meeting him where you least expect it,” added Kim a few weeks later. “I met my husband when I was out walking, just waiting at a red light. We exchanged glances and then we started talking... anyway, that’s really the best way to meet a guy. Just look around you. He’s right there! But you have to be looking.”
Sara, a 34-year-old religious woman, well-past the age she expected to be married, had curious advice for me. “Stop praying to find him,” she said. “I was praying every day asking God to help me find the man I would marry, and one day, I just stopped praying and stopped looking. I know it sounds crazy coming from me, but a month later, I met Adam at a friend’s Shabbat dinner table. He was sitting right next to me. So, stop praying for him and you’ll find him. I promise.”
These well-meaning words of advice were all unsolicited. Being single is seen as a chronic problem that needs to be solved and those who just had it solved want to share their secret, i.e. the secret to finding love and getting married. Some engaged and married women believe that the way they met their spouse, or how their long-single friend met her spouse, is the one sure way to get married.
“If I were you,” a long-time married friend who never online-dated offered, “I’d be on dating sites all the time. ‘So-and-so’ met her husband there! And ‘so-and-so’ is very serious with this guy she met online. I would be on online every single day. I don’t know why you’re not on JDate every single day! You just type in your criteria and there are men right there!”
“You have to throw out your list!” offered a recently-engaged woman via email. (Please note, I don’t have a so-called ‘list.’) “I am engaged to a guy I never would have dated years ago, but I threw out my list and now I’m marrying the least-likely guy. And I’m so happy and in love! There are a ton of men out there but maybe you’re looking for the wrong type of man.”
“You have to manifest your true love, everything you desire, and your love will come into your life,” emailed a woman who fell in love and married at age 42. “I created a vision board, and I started meditating on finding the one, and I wrote love letters to the man I knew would one day come into my life. And then the man I dreamed of finally came into my life! He even looks like the man on my vision board. You can manifest it, too!”
“I read Calling In The One by Katherine Woodward Thomas and a month later, I met the man I would marry! I’m sending you a copy right now. Read it! Every single chapter. Do all the exercises. You’ll meet him like next week,” practically guaranteed an industry colleague.
“I didn’t like my husband at all on the first date, or the second or the third,” offered a friend who might have been exaggerating a bit about how she felt about her great-looking, really kind, outgoing, successful husband. “But I kept going out with him and a few months later we got engaged. You have to keep giving a guy a chance. Even if you think he’s not for you.”
“Don’t give up!” said a woman who asked me if I were dating anyone special. I am not. “You cannot give up!” she added even louder. “He’s out there. You have to believe it!”

Good neighbours are good for your heart

Good neighbours are good for your heart

Love Good Health News Update

A recent study indicates that having good neighbours and feeling connected to others in the local community may help to curb an individual's heart attack risk.
http://lovenewsupdate.blogspot.com/
Ever felt like your neighbours' antics could drive you to an early grave?
Well, there may be reason for concern, said researchers who reported a link between having good neighbours and a healthier heart.
"Having good neighbours and feeling connected to others in the local community may help to curb an individual's heart attack risk," said a statement that accompanied a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

Number one cause of death
Heart and blood vessel diseases are the number one cause of death globally, claiming some 15 million lives in 2010, according to the latest Global Burden of Disease study.
Research into neighbourhoods and health had in the past focused on negative impacts, through factors like fast-food restaurant density, violence, noise, traffic, poor air quality, vandalism and drug use, said the study authors.

Read: Is your neighbourhood heart-healthy?
For the latest research, the University of Michigan team used data from 5,276 people over 50 with no history of heart problems, who were participants in an ongoing Health and Retirement Study in the United States.
They monitored the cardiovascular health of the group, aged 70 on average and mainly married women, for four years from 2006 – during which 148 of the participants had a heart attack.

Neighbours affect heart attack risk
At the start of the project, the respondents were asked to award points out of seven to reflect the extent to which they felt part of their neighbourhood, could rely on their neighbours in a pinch, could trust their neighbours, and found their neighbours to be friendly.
When they crunched the numbers at the end of the study, the team found that for every point they had awarded out of seven, an individual had a reduced heart attack risk over the four-year study period.

Read: Neighbourly trust good for health
People who gave a full score of seven out of seven had a 67 percent reduced heart attack risk compared to people who gave a score of one, study co-author Eric Kim told AFP, and described the difference as "significant".
This was "approximately comparable to the reduced heart attack risk of a smoker vs. a non-smoker," he said.

What about other factors?
"This is an observational study, so no definitive conclusions can be drawn about cause and effect," the statement underlined.
Limitations of the study included that researchers did not have access to the trialists' family history of heart disease and stroke.
But they had ruled out other possibly confounding factors like age, socio-economic status, mental health and underlying ailments like diabetes.
The mechanism behind the association was not known, but the team pointed out that neighbourly cohesion could encourage physical activities like walking, which counter artery clogging and disease.
"If future research replicates these findings, more neighbourhood-level public health approaches that target neighbourhood social cohesion may be warranted," the team wrote.

Update Love News

Nairobi - It was a rainy day in the Mother City and my (very) new love and I were ensconced in a perfectly hip coffee shop, sipping frothy caffeinated brews and staring lovingly into each other’s eyes. All very romantic. And then he opened his mouth to drop some truth bombs.
Quietly, slowly, he told me about his previous relationships: things that had been done, people that had been hurt, lies that had been told. They were uncomfortable offerings of vulnerability. I asked questions, he answered. I took some time to process everything he’d told me. He took some time to process that he’d actually told someone.
Truthfulness, with ourselves and others, can be pretty damn scary.
Honesty is funny that way. Denial and ‘small white lies’ we can opt into without a moment’s thought, but living truthfully about who we are and what we want – and then sharing this with someone – requires a heck of a lot of thinking, effort and facing unpleasant realities.
Which is maybe why we shy away from it sometimes. And that’s a pity. Because the more we’re able to be honest with ourselves and others, the better the relationships we share. Judith was the first person to teach me this.
When I was a kid I went through a period where I lied about everything, even the stupidest things. It didn’t matter, because I didn’t think I liked anyone (let alone myself) enough to care about what people did or didn’t know about me. Until I met Judith. Some part of my squishy teen brain equated wanting to have a real friendship with getting real about who I was. I wanted Judith to like me for me, even if ‘me’ was boring.
I think she may have been my first totally conscious honest relationship. Luckily, this venture paid off. Judith is now my oldest friend and I’ve learnt that, like denial and lying, honesty is totally self-serving. The difference is in what kind of reality you’re trying to create for yourself.
Lies and denial will always cloud the picture, whether it’s a small white lie about loving your mate’s cooking or a big lie about an emotional affair you’re pretending not to have with Peter from accounts. Honesty in your intimate relationship will always bring clarity. That clarity will either strengthen your trust and bond (and cooking skills) – or it will break what needs to break.
When Mr Man dropped those truth bombs, they cleared away the cloudiness for him and set the stage for practising sensitive honesty between us. (‘Sensitive’ because if you’re Hulk-smashing your opinions in the name of ‘just telling it like it is, man’ you need to check the intention behind your ‘honesty’.) For me, this honesty is the foundation of a meaningful, authentic relationship. It’s what builds trust that’s strong enough to explore intimacy and vulnerability, and hold the difficult feelings and tough realities.

Relationship goals: 4 resolutions for a sweet and steamy love life

Relationship goals: 4 resolutions for a sweet and steamy love life

Love News Update
http://lovenewsupdate.blogspot.com/
Whether you’re single or in a relationship, don’t leave your love life out of your New Year’s resolutions.
“I find a lot of us don’t come up with relationship goals until the relationship is broken,” said Toronto-based relationship expert Nicole McCance.
“We’ll make a fitness goal, we’ll make a work-related goal. But for whatever reason, once we get the relationship we assume it’s going to stay stable and happy.”
Unfortunately, that’s not exactly how things work. Relationships take work, regardless of what stage they’re at.

1. Date yourself.

This one applies to everyone, regardless of relationship status.
Toronto relationship expert Natasha Sharma tells her patients they’ll never be able to get everything they need to be happy solely from their partner. There’s also a tendency to sometimes spend a little too much time together.
She encourages people to schedule alone time for themselves and do things they enjoy on their own. That could be anything from a yoga class to maybe even a trip without their partner.

2. Limit complaints to two minutes per day.

It’s important to communicate with your significant other about what’s going on in your life. If you feel the need to vent, however, sexologist Jessica O’Reilly has a two-minute rule.
Once you exceed that limit, time’s up and you have to move on.
“Negativity sucks the life and eroticism from your relationship, and complaining makes you less attractive,” she explained.
In the grand scheme of things, O’Reilly adds, complaining about things like traffic, weather or customer service to your partner isn’t worth the energy. Plus it can be draining.
“Most couples report that time is their most precious commodity, so why waste it complaining?”
The only exception would be if you’re “talking through challenges and problems with the goal of identifying actionable solutions.” For O’Reilly, that “doesn’t qualify as complaining.”

Marriage Research: Study Reveals Surprising Findings About Closeness In Relationships

Marriage Research: Study Reveals Surprising Findings About Closeness In Relationships

http://lovenewsupdate.blogspot.com/

Think a happy relationship is defined by a high level of emotional closeness between two partners? Think again.
After surveying 732 men and women over two years, researchers at Columbia University discovered that the happiest couples were not necessarily those who reported feeling very close to each other. Rather, those whose “actual” level of closeness was similar to their “ideal” level of closeness were the most satisfied with their relationships, no matter how close they actually were.
The participants were asked questions about their current and ideal relationship closeness, relationship satisfaction, commitment, break-up thoughts and symptoms of depression. Fifty-seven percent of the participants reported feeling too much distance between themselves and their partner; 37 percent were content with the level of closeness in their relationships, and five percent reported feeling too close.“It’s best not to make too many assumptions about what constitutes a healthy relationship,” said study author Dr. David Frost in a press release. “Rather, we need to hear from people about how close they are in their relationships and how that compares to how close they’d ideally like to be.”

These 7 Questions Could Determine Whether Your Marriage Will Last Or Fail

Love News Update

http://lovenewsupdate.blogspot.com/
Not every romantic relationship you find yourself in is meant to go the distance. Just because you have crazy chemistry, for instance, doesn’t mean you and your partner have what it takes to sustain a long-term relationship, said Joyce Morley, a marriage and family therapist in Decatur, Georgia.
“Although you’d like to be on the same page with your S.O. and feel like soulmates, the reality is, that type of relationship is more the exception than the rule,” she told The Huffington Post. “You have to ask yourself if the relationship is worth taking to the next level.”
Below, Morley and other marriage therapists share seven important questions to ask your partner before taking the relationship any further.
Talking about the expectations each of you has around children is crucial to the success of your relationship. If you want them, how many and when? You should both absolutely be on the same page about this. This will lead to a deeper discussion around parenting and finances, as it ties in. For instance, if one of you wishes to stay home with a baby, how will this work? And for how long? Be sure to also discuss your plans if you have difficulty conceiving. You should try to flesh out your parenting philosophies as well as much as possible.” ― Marni Feuerman, a couples therapist based in Boca Raton, Florida
